About OSC-08

Now in its sixth year, the Organic Semiconductor Conference (OSC-08) is becoming the premier international gathering of scientists, engineers, manufacturers and investors for the discussion, demonstration and evaluation of organic semiconductor technologies and organic electronics.

Breadth
OSC aims to encompass the whole of the organic semiconductor and organic electronics industry, including (but not restricted to) all areas relating to:
  • organic light emitting diodes (OLED)
  • organic thin film transistors (OTFT)
  • organic field effect transistors (OFET)
  • organic photovoltaics (OPV)
  • organic lasers
  • organic memory
  • organic sensors
including aspects such as:
  • materials and inks
  • flexible devices
  • substrates
  • encapsulation
  • backplanes
  • deposition
  • patterning
  • roll-to-roll manufacturing
  • inline manufacturing
and addressing applications such as:
  • displays
  • signage
  • lighting
  • RFID
  • smart packaging
  • artificial skin
  • e-paper
  • e-books
  • electronic trading cards
  • solar cells
Also for the first time this year, the conference has expanded further to cover:
  • carbon nanotubes
  • graphenes
  • fullerenes
Efficient
The conference has been deliberately structured with just four tracks, to make it easier for delegates to get a broad overview and to attend the presentations of interest to them.

To facilitate the sharing of information all delegates can attend all tracks, including the peer-reviewed track, and full conference proceedings will be provided on CD-ROM on arrival so that delegates are free to concentrate on the presentations rather than on taking notes.

Ideal showcase
The exhibition provides an ideal showcase to promote new technologies and products to a targetted audience. With space to accommodate over 50 exhibitors, the exhibition area is immediately adjacent to the main conference rooms and is also the venue for refreshment breaks. This year we can offer a range of exhibition packages to suit all budgets, from basic tabletop spaces, to mid-size booths, to large, built exhibition stands.

Time to visit the exhibition has been built into the conference schedule so that delegates have plenty of opportunities to visit the displays.

History
The OSC annual conference series was founded in Cambridge by industry specialists cintelliq in 2003.

After three successful conferences in Cambridge (OSC-03, OSC-04 and OSC-05), cintelliq partnered with the Organic Electronics Association (OE-A) in 2006 and 2007 to develop the event further, and moved it Frankfurt. The conference was renamed the Organic Electronics Conference (OEC) to reflect this partnership.

Following the conclusion of this partnership in 2008, the conference has reverted to its original name. The OSC conference continues to develop and grow (attendance in 2007 was up 30% compared to 2006) and to accommodate this cintelliq has secured a spacious new venue at the purpose-built Congress Centre at Frankfurt Messe. OSC-08 will also introduce a number of new features to the conference programme, including new topics, a wide range of new exhibition options, an Exhibitor Forum, and other features yet to be announced.
